Reminder Maryland: Montgomery Minimum Wage Increase in July 2025

As a reminder for all employers in Montgomery, Maryland, the minimum wage will increase on July 1, 2025.:

  • From $17.15 per hour to $17.65 per hour for large employers (51 or more employees), and for tipped employees, from $10.00 to $12 per hour.
  • From $15.50 per hour to $16 per hour for midsize employers (11 to 50 employees).
  • From $15 per hour to $15.50 per hour for small employers (10 or fewer employees).

Tipped employees earning over $30 per month in tips must receive at least the Montgomery County Minimum Wage Rate per hour.

  • Employers pay a minimum of $4.00 per hour in direct wages, with tips making up the difference.
  • Restaurant employers using a tip credit must provide a wage statement each pay period.
  • The wage statement must show the effective hourly rate, including cash wages and tips.
