As a reminder for all Oregon employers, starting January 1, 2026, in addition to providing an itemized pay statement with each wage payment, employers must give new hires clear written information about pay and deductions and update it annually.
BOLI has provided template notices in English and Spanish to help employers meet these requirements. Ensure the information is easily accessible to employees.
What should be included:
- Regular pay period.
- All pay rates (hourly, salary, commission).
- All deductions and their purpose.
- Any allowances toward minimum wage (meals, lodging, tips).
- Employer-provided benefits shown on paystubs.
- Payroll codes with clear descriptions.
Delivery Options:
- Electronically (e.g., email or shared file).
- Posting in a visible workplace location.
- Printed copy or employee handbook.
